La inauguració del Nou Parc Central va fer realitat un projecte de ciutat dibuixat al 1878. Així ho ha recordat aquest dijous, a través de Twitter, l'alcalde de Mataró, David Bote, que ha afegit: "Actualment no podem entendre la ciutat sense aquest punt central que exerceix d'unió, de via de pas i de punt de trobada per totes i tots, que alhora fa de pulmó amb un miler d'arbres".
